I got this recipe from the cookbook shown above. I was in the Outer Banks of North Carolina. A quaint little bookstore in a strip mall called Publishers Warehouse it was at the Tangier Strip Mall. You guys are probably thinking, like I was thinking at the time, she needs a cookbook like she needs a hole in her head. Yes, that was what I was thinking. Actually I was thinking if I get rid of some of the cookbooks I don't use I could make room for more. Some women think you can never have enough shoes, I think you can never have enough cookbooks. But I digress, back to the bookstore. Well anyway, the owner was running a special. He was getting rid of his books because his lease is running out and it wasn't being renewed. He commented that his bookstore would soon become a high end clothing store. They tend to bring in more customers. So he figured he would sell as many as the books he could. It broke my heart. My family and I would travel there at least twice a year and make it a point to visit. Now it will be no more and I am very sad. Its funny how things change. It seems as I get older I am more inclined to not like change, especially the kind like that.
Use the 1 pound recipe if your machine pan holds 10 cups or less of water. Add ingredients to bread machine pan in the order suggested by manufacturer, adding mashed bananas with milk, and chocolate chips with flour. Recommended cycle: Basic/white bread cycle, light or medium/normal colour setting.
