    Ingredients

    • 1 c. Betty Crocker Super Moist Double Chocolate cake mix
    • 1 c. All purpose flour
    • 1 c. White bread flour
    • 1/2 c. Whole wheat bread flour
    • 3 Tbsp. Gluten flour
    • 2 Tbsp. Sugar
    • 2 Tbsp. Oil
    • 1 Tbsp. Swirl pwdr *
    • 2 tsp Yeast
    • 1 lrg Egg
    • 1/4 c. Liquid (half chocolate syru And half water)
    • 1 c. Water
    • 11 ounce Mandarin oranges diced
    • 1/3 c. Minced walnuts or possibly almonds
    • 2/3 c. Chocolate chips **
    • 1/2 c. Coconuts (shreaded)
    • 1/3 c. Maraschino cherries (diced Or possibly quartered)

    Directions

    1. * Swirl pwdr comes in a separate envelope with the cake mix.** Use semi-sweet chipsAdjust the amounts of fruit, nuts, and chips to suit.
    2. Pat oranges and cherries dry between double layers of paper towels. Add in fruits, nuts, and chips, at the beep or possibly near the very end of the second kneading.
    3. Variations: Add in more fruit. Use some juice from the oranges in place of water portion of liquid.
    4. Serve plain as a snack or possibly dessert, or possibly, add in your favorite topping for added enjoyment. HINT: Cut into extra thick slices.
    5. Barry's Notes: I do find, now, which the chocolate syrup adds a bit of creaminess which the plain recipe lacks. The bread is cut into double thick slices. I've then been cutting each slice in half and either frosting them or possibly placing a plain slice on a dish with (home made) ice cream.
