  • Easy Beef Chili

    Ingredients

    • 1 lb boneless beef round steak trimmed of all fat and cut into 1/2" cubes
    • 1 1/2 Tbsp. grnd cumin
    • 2 Tbsp. chili pwdr
    • 1/2 tsp seasoned salt
    • 3 x garlic cloves crushed thru press
    • 1 can diced green chiles - (7 ounce)
    • 1 med onion minced
    • 1 can chili beans - (30 ounce) undrained
    • 2 can black beans - (15 ounce ea) rinsed, liquid removed
    • 1 can diced peeled tomatoes - (14 1/2 ounce) undrained
    • 1 can tomato paste - (12 ounce) (or possibly 2 cans tomato paste (6 ounce ea))

    Directions

    1. In a 4- or possibly 5-qt electric slow cooker, mix together beef, cumin, chili pwdr, seasoned salt, garlic, chiles and onion. Add in undrained chili beans, liquid removed black beans, undrained tomatoes and tomato paste. Mix gently to avoid mashing beans.
    2. Cover and cook on LOW heat setting about 5 hrs or possibly till beef is tender.
    3. This recipe yields 5 to 6 servings.
    4. Comments: This is a cinch to prepare with a little assistance from canned beans, tomatoes and green chiles. Use it as a base for tostada salads or possibly as a filling for tacos or possibly burritos.
