Sweet and sour sauce
Delicate sauce as accompinament with pork, chicken or new potato salad Ingredients
- 1/2 cup water
- 1/2 cup white vinegar
- 1 cup sugar
- 4 lobes of garlic, crushed and chopped
- 2 tsp dried chillies, flaked
- 1 tsp arrowroot/ corn starch
- 2 tsp water
Directions
- Boil first 3 items in a saucepan on medium heat for 7 minutes until the sugar had dissolve and the mixture is clear
- Add the garlic and chillies, cook for another 10 minutes
- Make a paste with the corn starch and water, add, cook and stir until the sauce has the right cnsistency
- As the sauce cool, it will become thicker
- Transfer to clean bottles and allow to cool before refridgerating it
