Sunday Supper Swiss Steak
Easy prep dish to serve over noodles, rice, or potatoes. Ingredients
- 4 cubed steaks
- 1 small onion, chopped
- 1 bell pepper, sliced
- 1 stalk celery,sliced
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 14.5 oz. can stewed tomatoes, chopped
- 8 oz. tomato sauce
- flour, salt and pepper
- 2-3 tbs. oil
- 1 tsp. beef bullion, opt.
- 2 tbs. cold water
- 1 tbs. cornstarch
Directions
- Saute the veggies in the oil, set aside
- Dredge the steaks in seasoned flour, fry in the skillet, adding more oil, if needed. Brown on both sides.
- Add the other ingredients, except water and cornstach, simmer, covered for an hour, or until tender.
- Stir cornstarch into the cold water, add to the gravy, stir and let cook for 2 minutes.
- Serve.
