If you like cabbage, you'll love this dish. It is really good in winter time.

    Ingredients

    • 2 Tbsp olive oil
    • 1 medium onion cut in med size chunks
    • ½ lb sausage or ham or pickled meat, sliced
    • 1 med to large cabbage cut in small chunks
    • 4 med potatoes, quartered
    • 1 Tbsp Cajun seasoning
    • ¼ tsp celery seed
    • ½ tsp seasoned vinegar
    • 1 Tbsp sugar
    • ¾ c hot water
    • 1 Tbsp flour

    Directions

    1. On med-high, heat oil in large pot.
    2. Add onions and sauté for 5 minutes.
    3. Stir in meat and cook for 5 minutes.
    4. Stir in potatoes and seasonings. Cover and cook 10 minutes on med-low heat, stirring occasionally.
    5. Stir cabbage in gently and cook covered on low heat for 15 minutes, stirring occasionally. NOTE: It may be difficult to stir in cabbage at first but as it cooks down it will stir easily.
    6. Stir in vinegar and sugar.
    7. Add flour to water and stir until flour is dissolved.
    8. Turn fire up to medium and pour in flour mixture, stirring well.
    9. Cook and stir gently for 3-5 minutes until flour mix has thickened slightly.
