Savory Oven Pot Roast
Ingredients
- 3 lb Rolled rump roast
- Salt, pepper, healthy pinch of nutmeg
- 4 Tbsp. Flour
- 1 Tbsp. Oil
- 1 x Clove garlic, crushed
- 4 lrg Onions, sliced
- 2 c. Warm beef broth
- 2 Tbsp. Tomato paste
- 1 Tbsp. Sugar
- 1 Tbsp. Vinegar
- 1 tsp Thyme
- 1 x Bay leaf, broke
Directions
- Combine flour, salt, pepper, and nutmeg. Dust beef with seasoned flour.
- Heat oil in heavy pan; brown meat, then remove. Brown onions and garlic lightly in pan. Replace meat; add in remaining ingredients. Cover and bake at 350F till meat is tender, about 2 1/2 hrs. Throw away bay leaf. Serve with pan gravy.
