Whether you want a sweet snack while watching a movie or you want something festive, this popcorn is a fun way to munch! I made these for my daughter’s 3rd birthday party since the theme was Hello! Kitty and everything was pink. While I love popcorn, pink popcorn is just so much more fun to look at. You can really mix it up though and use any color you would like, just adjust as needed. It is definitely a great way to tie in a theme with your party food. My daughter said it reminded her of ice cream, so I thought it was only fitting to showcase it in these little sundae jars.

    Ingredients

Place the popcorn in two large bowls and set aside.

Place wax paper on two large cookie sheets and set aside.

In a saucepan on medium heat, whisk the sugar, half and half, corn syrup, and salt until it has dissolved. Then, allow the mixture to heat until it reaches 232 F or just before a “soft ball,” stirring occasionally. Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla and food coloring.

Drizzle the mixture over each bowl of popcorn and gently toss the popcorn until it is evenly coated. Spread the popcorn on to the prepared cookie sheets and allow the popcorn to dry for about 20 minutes.

Store in an airtight container for 1 day.
