FacebookTwitterPinterestYummlyNo-bake Oreo Truffle Balls are easy to make with only three ingredients! They’re great for any holiday, special occasion and perfect when you want to show a little love to someone special. This past week I made a batch of these Oreo Truffle Balls. I wanted to give a little TLC to my son who’d headed back to school. Honestly, I’m not sure if this was a good or bad idea. What I mean is this – these homemade truffles are so good that it was HARD to stop eating them Actually, I had to “hide” half of them from Mr. SS so that I could share them with Hunter! I knew these little bites would be a big hit since my guys are big fans of Oreos. They beg me to make my Oreo Icebox Cake which is also super easy to make just like these truffle balls. I think this recipe is the perfect combination of cookies and candy. They are so rich and fudgy with a little “crack” from the chocolate when you bite into them. What’s not to love, right?   How To Make Oreo Truffle Balls This no-bake recipe starts with a package of Oreo cookies. The first step is to crush the cookies using a food processor or blender. You can also use a zip-top bag and mallet to crush them up. Next, add in a block of cream cheese and mix. Roll the mixture into balls, freeze for a bit then dip into chocolate. Add some crushed cookies or sprinkles and that’s it! The fun thing about these sweet treats is that you can customize them. They are great for adding to a cookie tray during the holidays and to a dessert tray at parties. I’ll be making another batch to package up for my friends as a Valentine’s Day surprise. How Long Will Oreo Truffle Balls Keep? You can make the truffles ahead of time and store them in the fridge. Just make sure they’re in an airtight container. You can also make the filling, freeze then dip into chocolate before you’re ready to enjoy them. Tips For Dipping The Truffles There are no special tools needed for this step. You can use chocolate chips or candy melts to dip your balls in. I like to use melting chips which you can find on the baking aisle in the grocery store. If you use chocolate chips, you’ll need to add a bit of coconut oil or shortening to thin out your chocolate to make it the right consistency for dipping. I’ve found the best way to dip the balls is to place a ball into the melted chocolate, then remove it using a fork. Gently tap the fork on the side of the bowl until the excess coating drips off. Place the truffle on a parchment-lined baking sheet to set up.  If you want to add sprinkles or crushed cookies, do that when before the chocolate coating dries.
