  • Italian Sausage And Rice Casserole

    Ingredients

    • 1 lb Owens warm sausage
    • 1 c. Onions, minced
    • 1 c. Green pepper, minced
    • 1 c. Rice
    • 1 lrg Jar sliced mushrooms
    • 1 sm Jar sliced pimentos
    • 2 can Beef broth, (Campbell's)
    • 1 Tbsp. Heinz 57 sauce
    • 1 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce Salt and pepper to taste Parmesan cheese, (optional)

    Directions

    1. Brown sausage in skillet. Drain and crumble sausage and place in large casserole dish. Saute/fry onions and green peppers in sausage grease. When these are tender, add in rice and saute/fry. Stir well; add in mushrooms and saute/fry.
    2. Add in all of this to the sausage in casserole dish. Add in pimentos to sausage mix. In same frying pan, bring beef broth, steak sauce and Worcestershire sauce to a boil. Pour over rice mix and mix together.
    3. Bake covered in a 350 degrees oven for 30 min. Sprin- kle with Parmesan cheese and serve.
    4. Serves 6.
