Italian Beef Sandwiches
My husband LOVES Italian Beef. There is a place in Chicago that we love called Portillo's. I have made Italian beef but his cousin adds 1 envelope of Lipton Onion mix and beef broth so I thought I would give her recipe a try. It is AWESOME! There are very few ingredients and you simply toss it in a crock pot. What could be easier? This is a great recipe for a crowd or for a football game. Be sure to serve it on a good crusty roll I tried Filone Rolls tonight by Archer Farms, two thumbs up! So if you are looking for something to serve at your next football party give this one a try NO BULL is is awesome...GO COLTS! Ingredients
- Italian Beef Sandwiches
- 1 chuck roast
- 1 envelope of Lipton Onion soup mix
- 1 envelope of Italian salad dressing
- 1 jar of peperoncini plus 1/2 the juice
- 1 jar of hot giardiniera
- 2 cups of beef broth
Directions
- In a crock pot add beef and remaining ingredients EXCEPT for the Giardiniera. Cook on low for 8 to 10 hours. Remove beef and skim fat from the broth. Shred beef and add to broth mixture. Spoon into a crust roll and top with the Hot giardiniera.
- Enjoy!
