Greek Honey Yogurt Coffee Cake with Caramel Sauce
For best outcome, use a springform pan for this rich cake. Ingredients
- 3 beaten eggs
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 1/2 cups butter
- 1/4 cup honey
- 1 cup Greek yogurt (If you already have plain yogurt on hand, place 1 1/2 cups in a paper towel in a colander over a bowl and it will thicken in several hours)
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 2 tsp. baking powder
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 2 cups unbleached flour
- powdered sugar or bottled caramel sauce
Directions
- Preheat oven to 350 F
- Grease the springform pan.
- Combine the butter and sugar, then the rest of the wet ingredients ingredients.
- Sift in flour, BS, BP, salt, and combine.
- Pour into prepared springform pan.
- Bake 35-40 minutes. Test with a toothpick in the center.
- Let cool completely, invert onto a cake platter.
- Sprinkle on sifted powdered sugar, or drizzle on caramel sauce.
