Curried Yogurt Crab
Crabs soaked up in thick spicy tangy gravy. Ingredients
- 3/4 kg crabs - cleaned and crack the claws a bit.
- 100g yogurt
- 1 (about 100g) onion - sliced thinly
- 3 sprigs curry leaves
- spices - cinnamon, cloves and star anise
- 1/4 cup oil
- salt to taste
- For The Curry Paste
- 2 tbsp plain chilly powder
- 1/2 tbsp cumin powder
- 1/4 tbsp fennel powder
- 1 tsp turmeric/kunyit powder
- 1 tbsp ginger paste
- 1/2 tbsp garlic paste
- Mix all together with just a bit of water.
Directions
- When oil is heated, saute the onion and spices.
- Add curry paste and fry till oils floats and aromatic. .
- Put in crabs,stir and combine.
- Cover with a lid.
- Once crabs are cooked, add curry leaves and yogurt.
- Season with salt.
- Stir for about 3-4mins.
- Remove from heat.
