This is a simple and absolutely delicious stir-fry shrimp dish. I've been looking for something easy and tasty like this. I have a new staple! I used a red chile sauce that we had on hand instead of the sambal oelek, and I added it selectively after stir frying to my husbands and my plates, but not to the kids plates. It was plenty flavorful without the hot sauce and our kids were scooping extra sauce over their rice.

    Ingredients

    • 1 Tbsp sesame oil
    • 3 cups sliced green onions (1 inch slices)
    • 2 Tbsp fresh ginger peeled and minced
    • 5 cloves garlic, minced
    • 2 pounds large shrimp
    • 3 1/2 Tbsp soy sauce (I used low sodium)
    • 1/2 tsp sambal oelek (ground fresh chile paste) or chile sauce
    • 2 cups fresh cilantro, chopped
    • 4-6 cups cooked brown rice, to serve shrimp over

    Directions

    1. Heat a wok or large skillet over high heat. Add oil to the pan and swirl to coat. Add onions, ginger, and garlic to the pan and stir fry 1 minute. Add shrimp and stir fry 2 minutes. Stir in soy sauce and chile paste and stir fry 1 minute until shirmp are done.
    2. Remove pan from heat. Add cilantro and stir constantly until cilantro wilts. Serve over rice.

This had an amazing amount of flavor for a dish that takes 10 minutes from start to finish. If you're in the mood for an exotically flavored and easy to make stir fry, then this will definitely be up your alley!

Very, very pretty. I don't care for cilantro (only person on earth who doesn't), so I might switch it out with basil, mint & parsley. Thank you!

Awesome recipe! Was in a hurry making it and it still turned out great. Hubby has requested that this be put on the menu often. :)

loved this. What I like about this recipe is that you can switch it up. I added a tad bit of butter (a gotta have for me if there is shrimp and garlic involved ) and some angel hair pasta, also I did not have chile paste so I used red pepper flakes insted....and wow was it yummy

THE SLICED GREEN ONION MAKE THE COLOR WITH CILANTRO FLAVOR STAND OUT.

Excellent! Everyone in my family loved it-we made it without the chili sauce and added it as needed-very easy, came together in minutes-perfect for a weeknight dinner!

This was great, and fast! I just wish my kids would eat shrimp. I added lemon to mine, it gave it a nice twist. My husband liked it as well, but he gives it 3.5 stars. We ate this over angel hair pasta, excellent.
