Chocolate Drops
King Arthur Flour Baking Sheet The cookies are on the crispy side; if you like a chewier texture, bake them for the lower amount of the range given. Ingredients
- 3/4 cup unsalted butter
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 1 tbsp corn syrup
- 2 cups flour
- 1/2 cup Dutch-process cocoa
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 cup raisins, dried cherries, or flavored chips of your choice
- 1 cup chopped walnuts
Directions
- Cream together the butter, both of the sugars, and the eggs
- Mix in the vanilla and corn syrup
- Whisk together the flour, cocoa, baking powder, and the salt.
- Add the dry ingredients to the bowl
- Mix until combined
- Scrape the bowl
- Mix in the raisins or the chips and walnuts
- Scoop by the tablespoon onto the prepared baking sheets
- Bake for 8 to 10 minutes*** on the shorter end of the range if you like them chewier***
- Remove from the oven
- Cool on the pan for 5 minutes before transferring to a rack to cool completely
