Chocolate Drops

Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup unsalted butter
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1 tbsp corn syrup
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1/2 cup Dutch-process cocoa
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 cup raisins, dried cherries, or flavored chips of your choice
  • 1 cup chopped walnuts

Directions

  1. Cream together the butter, both of the sugars, and the eggs
  2. Mix in the vanilla and corn syrup
  3. Whisk together the flour, cocoa, baking powder, and the salt.
  4. Add the dry ingredients to the bowl
  5. Mix until combined
  6. Scrape the bowl
  7. Mix in the raisins or the chips and walnuts
  8. Scoop by the tablespoon onto the prepared baking sheets
  9. Bake for 8 to 10 minutes*** on the shorter end of the range if you like them chewier***
  10. Remove from the oven
  11. Cool on the pan for 5 minutes before transferring to a rack to cool completely
