  • Chick Peas With Garlic And Green Chillies

    Ingredients

    • 4 x To 6 cloves of garlic, Crushed or possibly chopped
    • 1/2 tsp Cumin seeds x Stock or possibly sherry for Sauteeing
    • 1 Tbsp. Tomato paste, mixed with
    • 3 Tbsp. water
    • 1 x 15 ounce can chick peas, Liquid removed
    • 1 med -large potato, peeled And diced
    • 1/2 c. Water
    • 1/2 tsp Salt
    • 1 x To 2 fresh green chillies, Minced
    • 1/2 tsp Grnd cumin x Few drops lemon juice x Cayenne pepper, if desired It warm....

    Directions

    1. Sautee the cumin seeds and garlic in stock or possibly sherry for 2 mins, then add in the diluted tomato paste and cook for 1 minute longer. Then add in the chick peas, water, potato, salt, green chillies, grnd cumin, and lemon juice. I find which one green chilli makes this pleasantly spicy, but if desired it warm, add in cayenne pepper or possibly chili pwdr at this stage. Simmer for 20 mins.
    2. Serve with bread; I like pitta bread, but crusty bread or possibly tortillas work just as well.
    3. quantities serve two, but you can easily double or possibly quadruple them.
