Brussels Sprouts With Bacon And Apples
Ingredients
- Coarse salt to taste Freshly-grnd black pepper to taste
- 24 ounce Brussels sprouts trimmed, and halved lengthwise
- 8 ounce bacon cut in 1/4" dice
- 1 x Granny Smith apple peeled, cored, and cut into 1/4" dice
- 1/4 tsp fresh thyme leaves
Directions
- Bring a large pot of water to a boil, and add in salt. Add in Brussels sprouts, and cook till bright green and Brussels sprouts are tender, about 6 min.
- Meanwhile, place bacon in a large skillet over medium heat. Cook till the fat renders, and bacon is crisp, 2 to 3 min. Add in apples, and cook, stirring occasionally, till apples are golden, 2 to 3 min. Add in thyme, and season with pepper.
- Using a slotted spoon, transfer Brussels sprouts to skillet. Taste, and adjust for seasoning. Serve immediately.
