Best Ever Brownies
I got this recipe in Home Economics in 1974 and it's still the best brownie recipe I have ever made. Ingredients
- Brownie Batter:
- 4 oz semi sweet chocolate squares
- 2/3 cup oil
- 4 eggs
- 2 cups white granulated sugar
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1-1/2 C Flour
- Frosting:
- 4 Tbsp butter
- 2 tsp vanilla
- 2 c. confectioner sugar
- 8 Tbsp cocoa
- 4 Tbsp milk
Directions
- On medium heat, melt 4 oz. semi sweet chocolate squares (four squares) in 2/3 c. oil. In separate mixing bowl, mix 2 cups sugar, 4 eggs and 1 tsp baking powder along with the oil and chocolate mixture. (Optional: Add to batter, 1 cup walnuts or pecans)
- Bake for 25-30 minutes at 350 degrees.
- Frosting:
- Mix all ingredients and spread over top when cooled
