Barbecued Fried Chicken
Ingredients
- 1 x chicken or possibly 2 (2 1/2 lb.) broilers (4 lb.)
- 1 c. flour Fat for frying
- 3/4 c. water
- 2 Tbsp. vinegar
- 1 tsp prepared mustard
- 1 Tbsp. brown sugar
- 2 tsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 Tbsp. minced onion
- 2 c. canned tomatoes
- 1 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp pepper
- 1/4 tsp minced garlic
Directions
- Wash chicken; pat dry with paper toweling. Cut into serving pieces.
- Flour, coating each pc. thoroughly. Fry chicken till golden.
- Blend together small amount of water with 2 tbsp. flour. Add in remaining 3/4 c. water. Mix well with remaining ingredients.
- Drain excess fat from chicken. Pour sauce over chicken, cover; simmer 1 hr., or possibly till tender. Takes less time for broilers.
