    Winnie's Vegetable Soup

    This is a Wilson family favorite. Although we all follow the recipe exactly, none of us can ever make it taste as good as grandma's.

    Ingredients

    • 1 lb. ground chuck
    • 1 small onion - chopped
    • 2/3 large can (or so) tomato juice
    • 4-5 Idaho potatoes - chopped bite size
    • Corn - can or frozen
    • Green beans - can or frozen
    • Peas - can or frozen
    • Carrots - fresh, can or frozen
    • 1 can chopped tomatoes
    • 1/2 head of cabbage - chopped
    • Water - as needed for correct consistency
    • Salt - to taste

    Directions

    1. In skillet brown ground chuck and onion.
    2. Drain grease.
    3. In large stock pot add tomato juice, vegetables and ground chuck
    4. mixture.
    5. Heat to boiling then reduce and let simmer for a few hours.
    6. Add water to adjust to the consistancy you like.
