Add caption Sometimes I'm in the mood for something cold, rich, and creamy but don't want to consume the calories or fat that are in traditional ice cream. In those moments, I make myself a decadent wild blueberry slushy dessert! This incredible vegan slushy is low in calories and fat and takes just 5 minutes to prepare!

Takes 5 Minutes to Prepare In The Blender

I keep wild blueberries in the freezer. They are my go-to treat when I want something special that isn't fattening or processed~ I use a blender and add frozen wild blueberries, a banana, nut milk, and a few drops of liquid stevia.. When I really want to be daring, I clip some fresh rosemary from my herb garden and add it to the blender as well. The combination of fresh rosemary and blueberries tastes great!!

I simply whiz the mixture for 20-30 seconds in the blender and it turns into a creamy, delicious, instantaneous frozen pleasure. Sometimes I even gently stir in additional whole berries after blending to create this gorgeous dessert in the photo below.

Health Benefits Of The Wild Blueberry

The wild blueberry is usually smaller and its flavor is more intense than the cultivated berry.

The antioxidant and nutrient value of the wild blueberry is greater and more powerful than cultivated blueberries! According to many studies, eating wild blueberries may be exceptionally good for the eyes, anti-aging, and memory!

The wild blueberry freezes well and is available in most markets in bags in the freezer section. I buy a brand in BJ's or supermarkets called Wyman's Wild Blueberries of Maine. I believe Costco may carry a different wild blueberry brand from Canada. They usually come in large bags!

Of course this incredible dessert is gluten free!
