Whole Wheat Poppy Seed Cookies
A healthier way to satisfy a sweet tooth. Ingredients
- 1/2 c. soft butter
- 3/4 c. packed light brown sugar
- 2 beaten Large eggs
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon lemon zest
- 1/3 c. poppy seeds
- 1 c. whole wheat flour
- 1 c. white flour
- 2 teaspoon baking pwdr
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
Directions
- Cream together butter and sugar. Beat until light.
- Add in eggs and vanilla.
- Add in lemon zest and poppy seeds. Beat another five min.
- Sift together dry ingredients. Add in to first mix and mix well.
- Refrigerate the dough about an hour.
- Roll to 1/4 inch thickness. Cut into your favorite shapes.
- Bake on a lightly greased tray 10-12 min at 375 degrees.
