  • Vintage Chocolate Chiffon Pie

    Ingredients

    • 1 C Evaporated Milk
    • 1C water
    • 2 eggs
    • 8 Tblsps sugar
    • 4 Tblsps flour
    • 1/4 tsp salt
    • 1 tsp vanilla
    • 1 sq. chocolate
    • 1 blind baked pie shell
    • You will need a double boiler.
    • You must prepare your pie shell previously to making Chocolate Chiffon Filling.

    Directions

    1. Melt chocolate in double boiler, add flour,
    2. 6 Tblsps sugar and the salt.
    3. Combine with milk and water, stirring constantly w/ wirw whisk. Continue on heat until whisked smooth.
    4. The longer it cooks, the smoother it becomes.
    5. Add egg yolks, cook/whisk 5 min longer.
    6. Remove from heat.
    7. Cool, and add vanilla.
    8. Pour into prepared pie shell.
    9. Now take your egg whites and 2 Tblspns sugar into a stiff fluff - spoon over the pie.
    10. Bake at 325 degrees for 20 minutes or until meringue browns.
