When I grill these everyone agrees that they are not your average hamburger. The marinade makes them taste out of this world.

    Ingredients

    • 2 pounds ground beef (85% lean or better)
    • 1 cup reduced-sodium soy sauce
    • 2/3 cup reduced-sodium beef broth or sherry
    • 4 green onion, chopped
    • 2 Tablespoons brown sugar
    • 4 garlic cloves, minced
    • 1 teaspoon ground ginger

    Directions

    1. Shape ground beef into 6 patties and place into a 9in x 13in dish.
    2. In a small bowl mix together the soy sauce, broth or sherry, brown sugar, ginger, garlic, and onions. Pour 1 cup over the patties: cover and refrigerate for 3 hours or overnight. Cover and refrigerate remaining marinade for basting.
    3. Drain and discard marinade. Grill patties, covered, over medium heat or broil 4 in. from the heat for 5-7 minutes on each side and juices run clear, basting occasionally with reserved marinade.
    4. Add cheese and or any of your other favorite toppings like lettuce, and tomato to your hamburger bun and enjoy.
