Tender Round Steak With Gravy
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 lbs. round steak, fat trimmed
- 2 tbsp. oil
- 1 can beef broth
- 1/2 c. water
- 1/4 c. catsup
- 1 tbsp. prepared mustard
- 1 lg. clove garlic, chopped
- Dash of Tabasco sauce
- 1/2 teaspoon salt & pepper
- 2 lg. onions, quartered
- 1 sm. green pepper (1 inch)
- 1 1/2 c. mushrooms (1/4 inch opt.)
- 2 tbsp. flour
- 1/4 c. water
Directions
- Brown beef in oil. Pour off fat. Add in soup, 1/4 c. water, catsup, mustard, garlic and Tabasco sauce. Cover, simmer 1 1/2 hrs. Add in onions and cook 40 min more. Add in green peppers and mushrooms, cook 20 min or possibly till tender. Stir now and then, add in more water if necessary. Make a paste of flour and water; add in and stir till thickened. Serves 6. Cooking time is 3 hrs.
