One of the most common questions in an interview is what would you take on a desert island? or some form of that question. If I had to choose one person it would be Dave. He is not only my husband but my best friend and after 19 years we still find things to talk about. We do everything together and so I could not imagine being without him if I am stuck somewhere remote – and he can light a fire! The one book I would take with me would be Richard Bach’s The Bridge Across Forever. I first read this when I was 16 and in Israel, and I have read it a few times since then. It is a book I can read over and over again, and I always find something new in it. My one movie would be The Rocky Horror Picture Show as I know every word and this would keep me moving and exercising as you just have to dance to The Time Warp. The one knife would be my Wusthof Kitchen Surfer knife. I was thinking about the cleaver for coconuts etc. but is is a little bit too hefty and would need sharpening. The surfer knife has to be the most amazing knife in my collection. For food I would take egg laying hens. Eggs are versatile and I eat two a day so we would be sorted there for a good source of protein. My non alcoholic drink would be coffee. You really don’t want to see me before I have had a cup in the morning. I function better on coffee! My alcoholic beverage answer would now be Tanqueray Gin. After the cocktail evening we went to I have discovered a whole new way of enjoying my gin – and yes, even before the evening, this was my gin of choice. Together with the coconut water I will be able to get from the island I can create this really refreshing cocktail to enjoy while gazing around paradise.
