  • Sourdough Surprises Pancakes

    Ingredients

    • Banana Mulberry Pancakes
    • 1/2 cup sourdough starter
    • 1 1/4 cups flour
    • 1/2 cup milk, plus 2-4 T more for a thinner pancake
    • 1/2 cup mashed banana
    • 1 T oil
    • 1 t baking soda
    • 1/2 t salt
    • 1 large egg

    Welcome Back~ It's the 20th of the month and that means~ It's Sourdough Surprises Time:)

    This month are challenge was to make pancakes~ There are so many different flavor combinations!

    Sourdough Surprises is a great way to meet other sourdough loving people, who love to use their sourdough starters to make delicious surprises:) If you like to make wonderful things with your sourdough starter, why not join us!

    One year ago today, I participated in my first Sourdough Surprises Challenge. We made English Muffins! It made me laugh when I went back and re-read my old post! I have only missed one challenge and that was in January. I want to Thank Everyone for making my first year with Sourdough Surprises a fun and welcoming experience!!! Here's to many more:)

    1/2 cup to 1 cup mulberries or berries of your choice.

    *if using frozen berries, thaw to room temperature.

    Combine the starter, flour, mashed bananas, and 1/2 cup milk. Cover and let rest 30 minutes in a warm place.

    Add the oil, baking soda, salt and egg. Stir until combined. Add 2-4 T milk for a thinner pancake.

    Heat a griddle to 350. Grease lightly. Pour desired amount of batter on hot surface. Sprinkle surface with mulberries. Flip each pancake over when surface bubbles and the edges are slightly dry. Cook until golden brown. Serve with maple syrup.
