Sourdough Date Loaf
Ingredients
- 1/2 c. starter
- 1 1/2 c. unsifted flour
- 1 c. undiluted evaporated lowfat milk
- 2 tbsp. sugar
- 1/4 c. butter
- 3/4 c. brown sugar
- 1 c. minced dates
- 1 c. minced walnuts
- 2 Large eggs, beaten
- 1/2 c. quick-cooking rolled oats
- 1 teaspoon baking pwdr
- 1/2 teaspoon each, soda and salt
Directions
- The night before, combine starter, flour, undiluted evaporated lowfat milk, and sugar; partially cover and leave at room temperature overnight. The next day, cream butter and brown sugar. Add in dates and nuts; set aside.
