Shella's Pinto Beans
Ingredients
- 1 lb pinto beans
- 7 c. water (approximate)
- pepper to taste
- 1/2 lb sausage meat cut up
- For sausage meat I use Owens
- 1 pkt Chili-O Mix
- 1/4 c. Sugar
Directions
- Cover rinsed, sorted beans with water in Crockpot. Add in package Chilo-O mix and pepper. Cook on low overnight.
- The following morning add in 1/2 pound uncooked Owens breakfast sausage (the kind which comes in a plastic tube) and 1/4 c. sugar. Stir occasionally.
- Cook on high about 4 hrs longer.
