SAVORY CHICKEN BIRYANI

I made this recipe for those who like to enjoy Indian food with less spices. This recipe is simple but full of flavour. It's so yummy!!! Ingredients
- 1/2 c oil
- 3 medium onions, sliced
- 1 cinnamon stick
- 1 star anise
- 1 bay leaf
- 1/2 tbsp. garlic paste (3 cloves)
- 1/2 tbsp. ginger paste (1 cm. ginger)
- 2 medium tomatoes, chopped
- 1 tbsp. salt
- 1/2 tsp. MSG
- 1 tsp. chili powder
- 1/2 kg. chicken, cut up
- 1 chicken cube
- 1 tbsp. curry powder
- 1 c water
- 1/2 kg. Basmati rice (long-grained)
Directions
- Brown onions with cinnamon, star anise and bay leaf in hot oil.
- Add ginger and garlic. Saute for 1 minute.
- Stir in tomatoes until mushy.
- Season with salt, MSG and chili powder.
- Add chicken, chicken cube and curry powder. Stir fry for 5 minutes.
- Mix water and simmer until chicken is tender.
- Meanwhile, clean and rinse rice many times. Soak for 30 minutes.
- Boil enough water and add rice. Cook until rice is 75% done. Drain.
- In a large pan, mix rice, chicken and sauce. Steam for 20 minutes or until smokes come out from the pan.
