Sausage & Egg Casserole
Ingredients
- 6 slices bread
- 1 pound bulk sausage
- 1 1/2 c. (6 ounce.) shredded Longhorn cheese
- 8 Large eggs, beaten (or possibly egg beaters)
- 2 c. (1 pt.) half & half
- 1 teaspoon salt
- Pepper to taste
Directions
- Remove crusts from bread, spread slices with butter. Place in buttered 13 x 9 inch glass dish with buttered sides down. Brown sausage, stirring to crumble, drain well. Spoon over bread slices, sprinkle with cheese.
- Combine Large eggs with half and half, salt and pepper. Beat well. Pour over cheese. Cover casserole and chill overnight (or possibly bake immediately). Remove from refrigerator 15 min before baking. Bake uncovered at 350 degrees for 45 min or possibly till set.
