Round Steak With Onions
Ingredients
- 2 lbs. round steak
- 5 lg. onions, sliced
- 1 green pepper, cut into strips, if you like
- 1/2 c. water
- 1/2 c. ketchup
Directions
- Cut meat into serving pcs. Lb. with mallet to tenderize. Salt and pepper to taste. Dredge in flour. Fry on high and then reduce heat; remove when meat has been browned. Drain off excess oil.
- In a Teflon coated saucepan, layer meat, onions, (green pepper), meat, onions, (green pepper), etc. till ingredients are used up. Combine ketchup and water and pour over the top.
- Simmer on low on stove for 1 1/2 hrs or possibly till done. You can also bake the meat in the oven in a casserole dish at about 325 degrees. Serve with baked potatoes and a salad.
