Round Steak With Onions

Ingredients

  • 2 lbs. round steak
  • 5 lg. onions, sliced
  • 1 green pepper, cut into strips, if you like
  • 1/2 c. water
  • 1/2 c. ketchup

Directions

  1. Cut meat into serving pcs. Lb. with mallet to tenderize. Salt and pepper to taste. Dredge in flour. Fry on high and then reduce heat; remove when meat has been browned. Drain off excess oil.
  2. In a Teflon coated saucepan, layer meat, onions, (green pepper), meat, onions, (green pepper), etc. till ingredients are used up. Combine ketchup and water and pour over the top.
  3. Simmer on low on stove for 1 1/2 hrs or possibly till done. You can also bake the meat in the oven in a casserole dish at about 325 degrees. Serve with baked potatoes and a salad.
