  • Roll-out Sugar Cookies

    I have tried every sugar cookie under the sun for Christmas cookies, and this is the best one by far. Also, nothing in the recipe that isn't already in the pantry.

    Ingredients

    • 2 cups flour
    • 1/4 ts salt
    • 1 cup sugar
    • 1 tsp vanilla
    • 1/2 tsp baking powder
    • 1 stick butter
    • 1 egg

    Directions

    1. COmbine flour, baking powder, and salt.
    2. Cream butter and sugar. Beat in egg and vanilla. Add dry ingredients.
    3. Flatten dough into disks and freeze 20 mins.
    4. Roll out the dough about 1/8" thick, cut into shapes. Chill for 10 mins.
    5. Bake at 325 for 10-18 mins (varies by how thick you make them, I definitely make them thicker than 1/8")
    6. Decorate!
