Pig Pickin' BBQ Sauce for Pulled Pork or Ribs

While Carolinians justly deserve accolades for their pork, they prefer vinegar and mustard sauces. This is a mild tomato-based sauce for pulled pork, or it can be slathered on ribs that are almost done, and also served at the table. Ingredients
- 1 cup ketchup
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/3 cup water
- 2 tbs. dark molasses
- 1/4 cup vinegar
- 2 tbs. Worcestershire
- 2 tsp. yellow mustard, or 1 tsp. Colman's
- 1 tsp. chile powder
- 1 tsp. paprika
- 2 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. ground pepper
- Tabasco to taste
Directions
- Put all ingredients in a sauce pot and simmer on a low heat, uncovered, for 30 minutes.
- Stir occasionally.
- Serve warm.
- Will freeze.
