Peas and Cheese (with Mushrooms)
This is from Favorite Indian Food by Diane Seed and is described as "a mild but tasty vegetable side dish". I agree. Ingredients
- 3 1/2 oz. paneer
- 9 oz. mushrooms
- 9 oz. (1 2/3 cups) fresh peas, shelled
- 2 oz. (4 Tablespoons) ghee or melted butter
- 1 tsp. cayenne pepper
- 1 tsp. turmeric
- 1 Tablespoon cilantro, chopped
- salt
Directions
- Melt the ghee and add the peas and sliced mushrooms. Cook for a few minutes, then stir in the spices, chopped cilantro, salt to taste and the cheese cut into cubes.
- Simmer for about 5 minutes, cover and keep warm until ready to serve.
