    Very rich peanut butter and chocolate brownies with a fluffy peanut butter topping.

    Ingredients

    • 1/2 c butter
    • 2 (1oz) semi-sweet baking chocolate squares
    • 1/2 c creamy peanut butter
    • 1/3 c white sugar
    • 1/2 c brown sugar
    • 2 eggs
    • 1 tsp vanilla extract
    • 1 c all-purpose flour
    • 1 tsp baking powder
    • 1/2 tsp salt
    • TOPPING
    • 1/4 c butter
    • 2/3 c creamy peanut butter
    • 1 tsp vanilla extract
    • 1/3 c powdered sugar
    • 1 1/2 c lite whipped topping, thawed

    Directions

    1. Preheat the oven to 325, grease a 9x9 baking pan.
    2. Melt the butter and chocolate together over low heat.
    3. Transfer to mixer and blend with peanut butter and sugars on med-low speed until smooth.
    4. Beat egg with vanilla and add to mixture.
    5. Combine flour, baking powder and salt; stir into the sugar mixture.
    6. Spread evenly into the prepared pan.
    7. Bake for 35 minutes in preheated oven, or until firm.
    8. TOPPING: blend together the butter, peanut butter, vanilla, and sugar. Gently mix in the whipped topping by hand. Refrigerate until brownies have cooked and cooled.
    9. Spread topping onto brownies and cut into bars
