I hate to admit I had not made these in years. always some excuse. Even though these are my FAVORITE filipino food. LOVE THEM So, I am going by memory on this until I do go ahead and make these I looked to see if anyone hear had a similar receipe and I couldnt find one. so here is my mom's version (and hopefully) I got it all correct.

    Ingredients

    • Lumpia Wrapers (i guess you could use egg roll wrappers)
    • 1 lb ground turkey
    • 1 small can water chestnuts
    • 1-3 carrots
    • 1 small onion
    • 1 - 3 tbspn Garlic
    • salt and pepper
    • 2 eggs (kind of guess on the egg)
    • (i know you can use other veggies you like I cant remember if she added anything else)
    • water and flour (to make paste for closing lumpia wrapers
    • banana sauce (for dip)
    • thin layer of veg oil for frying

    Directions

    1. we always had to unfreeze our lumpia wrappers
    2. and meat
    3. then we put veggies in food processor and diced them up. and added the ground turkey, eggs and veggie together and salt and pepper and mixed it up with our hands like meat loaf. You could stir it too.
    4. oh, and then cut the lumpia wrapers in half. (to make them smaller) then we took a small amount and made a think line down the lumpia wrapper kind of like you might with egg rolls and then wrapped it up tight i think sides in first then the long part. (so that is's like a cigar shape and dipped our hands in the flour water and wet the wrap and then closed it. and then we fryed it. til golden brown. Since there wasn't a lot of filling it doesnt take that long to cook when golden brown. and of course you have to flip it. so its golden round all over and then she put it in a strainer and let the grease drain onto a paper towel underneath. and you dip in the banana sauce. YUMMY!
    5. I hope this receipe is somewhat helpful
