Masala Vada
Healthy and crispy snack to enjoy tea. Ingredients
- 1 cup Chana Dal/Split Bengal Gram
- 2 Tablespoon Semolina/Rava/Suzi
- 2 teaspoon Fennel Seeds
- 2 Red Chillies
- 1 green Chilly
- 5-6 Garlic cloves
- 1 small piece Ginger
- 1/4 cup Coriander Leaves , chopped
- 1 onion , chopped
- Salt to taste
- Vegetable Oil for frying
Directions
- Wash and soak chana dal for 2 to 3 hours . Drain the water completely and keep aside. .Then grind chana dal to a coarse mixture make sure it should not be thick.
- Grind together garlic, red chillies, ginger and fennel seeds in blender to form a paste. Set aside.
- Add onions, Rava , coriander leaves, salt, garlic- fennel paste and mix well.
- Do not add water, it will look crumbly but will get together easily. Make equal lemon sized small balls out of the mixture, and pat them on your palm to form a circle to medium thickness.
- Heat oil in a Kadai/Wok and deep fry them till golden brown, turning over both sides. Drain on a paper towel.
- Serve hot with tea and ketchup.
