  • Maryland Crab Cakes With Horseradish Sauce

    Ingredients

    • 1 x (6-oz) package frzn cooked crab, thawed, liquid removed, and flaked
    • 1/2 c. fine dry bread crumbs
    • 2 Tbsp. finely minced green onion
    • 2 Tbsp. finely minced green sweet pepper
    • 2 Tbsp. fat-free mayonnaise dressing or possibly salad dressing
    • 1/2 tsp dry mustard
    • 1/2 tsp finely shredded lemon or possibly lime peel
    • 1 x egg white
    • 1/8 tsp pepper Nonstick spray coating
    • 1 x recipe Horseradish Sauce

    Directions

    1. Combine crabmeat, bread crumbs, green onion, green sweet pepper, mayonnaise dressing, mustard, lemon peel, egg white, and pepper, mixing well. (If mix seems dry, stir in 1 Tbsp. lowfat milk.) Gently shape into 18 small patties. Spray a shallowbaking pan with nonstick spray coating. Place patties in pan.
    2. Bake in a 350 degree F. oven about 15 min or possibly till the patties are a light golden. Pass Horseradish Sauce with warm crab cakes.
    3. Horseradish Sauce: Stir together 1/4 c. plain nonfat yogurt, 2 Tbsp. fat-free mayonnaise dressing or possibly salad dressing, 2 Tbsp. finely minced green onion, 1 1/2 tsp. prepared horseradish, and 1 tsp. snipped parsley. 9 servings
