Maple Butterscotch Brownies

- 1/2 cup butter, melted
- 1 1/4 cups packed brown sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 1/2 tsp maple flavoring
- 1 1/2 cups flour
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1 cup chopped walnuts
- Confectioners' sugar, optional
Directions
- In a large mixing bowl, cream the butter and the brown sugar
- Add the eggs, one at a time
- Beat well after each addition
- Beat in the maple flavoring
- Combine the flour and the baking powder
- Add to the egg mixture
- Stir in the walnuts
- Pour into a greased 9-inch square baking pan
- Bake at 350 F for 27-32 minutes or until a toothpick inserted near the center comes out clean
- Cool
- Dust with confectioners' sugar if desired
