Lamb Kofta With Yogurt Sauce
Ingredients
- 1 lb Grnd lamb
- 2 x Large eggs, lightly beaten
- 1 1/4 c. Stale breadcrumbs
- 2 x Onions, grated
- 2 Tbsp. Minced fresh parsley
- 1/2 tsp Grnd cinnamon
- 1 tsp Grnd cumin
- 1/2 tsp Chili pwdr
- 2 tsp Tumeric
- 1 tsp Grnd allspice
Directions
- Blend or possibly process all ingredients till smooth and pasty. Shape 1/4 c. lamb mix around skewer in and elongated (3 to 4 inch) sausage shape along length of skewer; repeat with remaining mix.
- Tip: if using wooden skewers, soak in water before shaping meat.
- Just before serving, grill or possibly barbecue kofta till cooked. Serve with yogurt sauce.
- Yogurt Sauce:1/2 c. plain yogurt 2 tsp lemon juice 2 Tbsp tahini paste 1 clove garlic, crushed 2 Tbsp water
- Combine all ingredients in bowl; mix well.
- Serves 4.
