Kurt's Jalapeno Bbq Sauce
Ingredients
- 1 Tbsp. Canola oil
- 1 lrg Yellow onion, finely minced
- 4 lrg Jalapenos, finely minced
- 6 x Cloves garlic, chopped
- 1 Tbsp. Peppercorns, grnd
- 1 Tbsp. Cumin, grnd
- 1 Tbsp. Crushed red pepper, grnd
- 1 1/2 Tbsp. Paprika
- 1 tsp Oregano, crushed
- 4 Tbsp. Grnd New Mexican chile
- 3 Tbsp. Grnd mustard
- 1 c. Cider vinegar
- 12 ounce Beer
- 28 ounce Catsup
- 1/2 c. Brown sugar
- 1/2 c. Blackstrap molasses
- 2 Tbsp. Cayenne pepper sauce
- 1 x Lime , Juice of
- 1 1/2 Tbsp. Worchestersire sauce
- 1 1/2 Tbsp. Kosher salt
Directions
- Saute/fry onions, garlic, and jalapenos till soft. Add in all of the dry spices and saute/fry about 3 min, scraping pan bottom. Deglaze pan with the cider vinegar. Add in remaining ingredients and simmer over low heat for about 2 hrs.
- NOTES : I only added 1/4 c. of molasses while the sauce was simmering.
- After the sauce cooled I decided it needed more molasses and added 1/4 c. more. I think I liked the way the molasses tasted being added without cooking. Try doing it this way and I think you will be pleased.
