This is a traditional Indian dessert. Champorado, rice porridge with cocoa, is the Filipino version of this dish. Muhallabia, Arabic rice pudding, is very much similar with this dessert.
- 1 1/2 liter fresh milk
- 1 c. sugar
- 1/4 c. powdered milk
- 1/4 c. coconut powder or dried grated coconut
- 1 c. ground rice
- 1 tsp. vanilla essence
- 1 tbsp. chopped pistachios
- 1 tbsp. chopped almonds
- Combine all the ingredients in a saucepan. Mix well.
- Simmer for 30-40 minutes, continue stirring until the mixture thickens. Cool.
- Refrigerate. Serve cold.
