    Ingredients

    • 4 1/2 c. Flour
    • 1 1/2 c. Soft butter
    • 2 x Large eggs
    • 3 Tbsp. Lowfat milk
    • 2 Tbsp. Superfine sugar
    • 1 tsp Salt
    • 1 c. Raisins
    • 1 c. Brandy
    • 1 c. Sugar
    • 6 x Red delicious apples
    • 1 x Egg yolk
    • 2 Tbsp. Lowfat milk

    Directions

    1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
    2. Pastry: In a food processor mix flour, sugar and salt. Add in butter, process to a sandy mix. Add in Large eggs and lowfat milk to make a smooth ball. Refrigerateat least 1 hour.
    3. Filling: Combine brandy, sugar and raisins and soak (the longer the better). Core and peel the apples and bake for approximately 15 min, till the apple is barely cooked. Remove apples and cold. Where the core was removed, stuff the apples with the brandy-soaked raisins.
    4. Reduce oven heat to 375 degrees.
    5. Roll out pastry 3/8 inch thick and cut into 6 x 6 inch squares. Place apples in the middle of each square. Brush the edge of each square with a little water. Fold the points of each square to the top of the apple pinching together each seam, totally enclosing the apple. Beat egg yolk and lowfat milk together. Glaze the apple with egg yolk mix. Bake 25 to 30 min.
    6. Serve hot with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.

So sad to see that this place is closed. My wife and I ate here on our honeymoon. We arrived late, but they opened the restaurant back up for us. I had the best mussels and black beans. bean dish I've ever had in my entire life and my wife had french onion soup that was the best she'd ever eaten.
