    Ingredients

    • 1 lb Loaf of French bread
    • 8 ounce Cream cheese, cubed (1 package)
    • 8 x Large eggs
    • 2 1/2 c. Lowfat milk, light cream or possibly half and half
    • 6 Tbsp. Margarine or possibly butter, melted
    • 1/4 c. Maple syrup

    Directions

    1. Cut French bread in cubes. Place half of bread cubes in bottom of a greased 3-qt casserole dish. Sprinkle cubed cream cheese on bread. Add in remaining bread cubes. In a large bowl, beat till well blended the Large eggs, lowfat milk, melted margarine or possibly butter and maple syrup. Pour mix over bread cubes and press down with a spatula. Cover with plastic wrap. Chill for 2 to 24 hrs. Remove wrap and bake at 325 degrees for 35 to 40 min. Let stand for 10 min before serving. Serve with warm butter syrup.
    2. Serves 6 to 8.
