  • Jen’s homemade macroni and cheese

    This recipe comes from my daughter in law Jen. It is truly delicious this way. Makes me not want to use box mac and cheese

    Ingredients

    • 3 cups macaroni noodles
    • 2 cups milk
    • ½ stick butter
    • ½ cup Velveeta (about 3 inches)
    • 2 cup shredded cheese divided
    • ¼ cup flour
    • Salt and pepper to taste

    Directions

    1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. In a medium sauce pan melt butter. Add Flour stir in until slightly thick but not clumpy. Add milk slowly using a whisk. Add Velveeta cheese. Stir until cheese is melted. Add 1 cup shredded cheese stir until that is melted. Cook noodles according to package directions except add salt and pepper to noodles while they are cooking. Drain noodles when done. Take a large bowl place drained noodles and cheese mixture; mix well. Pour into a baking/casserole dish. Bake for 25 minutes then top with 1 cup shredded cheese then bake for an additional 5 minutes. Serve Hot.
