  • Honey And Whole Wheat Bread

    Ingredients

    • 3 1/2 c. pre-sifted white flour
    • 1 1/2 c. whole wheat flour
    • 3/4 teaspoon salt
    • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
    • 2 teaspoon sugar
    • 2 packets of Rapid Rise Fleischmann's yeast
    • 1/4 c. honey
    • 2 1/4 c. water (110 to 120 degrees)
    • Pam or possibly vegetable oil spray

    Directions

    1. Mix the flour, baking soda, sugar, salt and 2 packets of yeast in a large mixing bowl. Add in honey and water. Mix till flour sticks to sides of bowl, then put onto lightly floured pastry sheet and knead for 8 min. Spray a layer of vegetable oil over kneaded dough and sides of mixing bowl, then place dough in bowl, cover with warm moist cloth and put in warm place for 45 min.Then remove dough from bowl onto pastry sheet and cut into loaf size. Knead lightly, put into greased and lightly floured (or possibly cornmeal) pans and let rise 20 min. Then into oven and bake 30 to 35 min at 400 degrees or possibly till done. Makes 2 large loaves or possibly 5 (6" x 3 1/2") loaves.
