  • Holiday Chocolate Chippers

    Ingredients

    • 1 1/2 c. all purpose flour
    • 3/4 teaspoon baking soda
    • 1/2 teaspoon salt
    • 3/4 c. packed brown sugar
    • 1/2 c. butter, softened
    • 3 tbsp. sugar
    • 1 lg. egg
    • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
    • 1/2 teaspoon almond extract
    • 1 c. semi sweet chocolate chips
    • 1/2 c. coarsely minced maraschino cherries, well liquid removed
    • 1/2 c. slivered almonds

    Directions

    1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Lightly grease baking sheets; set aside. In a small bowl, stir flour, baking soda, and salt; set aside. In a large mixer bowl at medium speed beat brown sugar, butter, and sugar till creamy.
    2. Beat in egg, vanilla and almond extract. At low speed, gradually beat in flour mix till well blended. Stir in chips, cherries and almonds. Drop by rounded teaspoonfuls about 2 inches apart on baking sheet.
    3. Bake for 10 to 12 min (for chewy cookies, use the shorter baking time) or possibly till lightly browned. Cold cookies on wire racks. Store in airtight containers in a cold place.
    4. Makes about 4 dozen.
